Citation became the 8th Triple Crown winner in 1948. Secretariat became the 9th Triple Crown winner -- 25 years later. Citation was the first equine millionaire in 1951 with 45 starts, 32 wins, 10 seconds, 2 thirds, and $1,085,760 in earnings.
